Alfred M. Freedman who was the 102^nd  President of the American Psychiatry Association is interviewed by Dr. Michael Blumenfield, Professor of Psychiatry at New York Medical College. Dr. Freedman who was President of the APA 1972-1973 is now 90 years old. He talks about the behind the scenes details of the year of his presidency when the Board of Trustees and the Assembly of the American Psychiatric Association voted to remove the classification of homosexuality as a psychiatric disorder. He also reflects on the how modern psychiatry has changed since his training and early years of practice as a psychiatrist.
